What a beautiful girl!

In the beginning of March, I had the opportunity to take some pictures of a girl who is a Senior at Bisbee High School. I tagged along with 2 other ladies, who are also "learning" photography. We had such a good time and this girl got some amazing pictures that herself & family can cherish forever!
Enjoy!

And just for some fun...I made this!

I was pretty pleased with the outcome of these! What do you think? I am open to any constructive criticism! Please help me learn. =]

Thanks Nicole for letting me have the chance to "shoot" you! LOL
You are such a beautiful girl both inside & out!

Weekend Getaway

Wooooo~Hoooooo! It's FRIDAY!
I have been anxiously waiting for this day because I am so excited about this evening and of course this weekend. We, meaning me & the family, are going to be very busy.

Tonight starts us off with JL's opening T~ball Ceremonies. This is JL's first year playing T~ball and let's just say it's been interesting so far. These kids are so cute out there but at the same time have the shortest attention span. Seriously...one kid asked the coach {which happened to be his dad} if he could go catch ladybugs. Right now it's like swarm ball and when the ball is hit the 1st basemen wants to run all the way into left field to try to get the ball. The coaches and parents are trying to teach them all but me being the mom that I am can be somewhat hard on my little guy. JL listens to me though and so far he is having a good time. His first game is next Thursday. Go Diamond Jaxx!

After opening ceremonies, we have my brother's 36 birthday dinner. Man he is getting old! JUST KIDDING. I love my brother. We didn't get along very well when we were younger but once I hit my teen years and of course now...we get along great! He has such a big he♥rt and is crazy at times....okay...most of the time but that is what I love about him.
Happy Birthday brother!

Whew...what a busy night. Makes me tired just thinking about it as it's going to be crazy busy and it's only me since the husband is on shift today. =[

{Sister & me during one of our Girls Night Outs}

Tomorrow will be a a day of packing and hopefully spending some time with my girls while we say goodbye to my "sister" Stephie. She is moving to Utah on Tuesday. She is going to be missed like crazy!

On to Sunday....the best part of the weekend. Me & the husband are going to a wedding in Tucson and staying at the Hilton el Conquistador. Just me and him...no kids thanks to my mom and Ambrosia. Thank you guys! I'm really excited because a group of us are going and we are going to hang out by the pool {which has a water slide...eek!}, drink and party all night long. I cannot wait!

{isn't it beautiful?}

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

At it again...

We are at it again! We, meaning me & my friend Amanda, just registered for the Susan G. Komen 3~day for the Cure! We did it last year with a team of 4 ladies, me, Ambrosia, Tessa, & Amanda, and we had an AH~MAZING experience.
This year, Ambrosia, who was our team captain last year and the one who started it all, has decided to be a Crew Member. Amanda & I have been going back & forth on whether or not we were going to walk again this year. This morning we decided we were going to DO IT! We registered with the same team name as last year..
SAVE THE TA~TIDDLES & TA~TONKERS
and are really excited to start our fundraising. We know what it takes to do this, as $2300 can be very intimidating, but we did it last year with 4 ladies and even went over our goal. Crazy huh? But we know this year with the amount of support we got last year that we will for sure reach our goals!
I have my fundraising ticker on my side bar if you would like to make a donation. If you feel lead to share this post on your blog, please feel free. Let's work together to fight breast cancer and find a cure! NOTE: If you do happen to blog about this, please leave me a comment with the link page and I'll send you a little thank you in the mail.
Please know that this event means a lot to me. I'm glad to say that last year when I was walking my best friend's mother was fighting breast cancer, and today she has won that fight. ♥

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and is the leading cause of death among women worldwide~from the Susan G. Komen website

Down for the count....

Man oh man...what a rough couple of days it has been.
Last Wednesday I started to feel myself get a tickle in my throat and the nose was getting congested. Everyone in my office {well the other 2 people} have been sick and I sure as heck didn't want to catch what they had, but I sure did catch something.
{this is totally how I have been feeling, gray hair and all!}

I stayed home on Thursday then worked 1/2 day on Friday. I was feeling alright, the normal congestion and all, but then on Friday night my jaw starting hurting up to my ear on the right side. It hurt to open my mouth and felt like I had a toothache. It was horrible. I woke up on Saturday and felt okay so I didn't reschedule my hair appointment
SIDETRACK: I will post soon about the new hairdo! I love it and so does the husband! =]

Anyways, got home from the hair appt and should have just relaxed but I wasn't feeling totally miserable so we decided to head to Tucson to go to the zoo. {Again...another post with pics coming soon}
We had a great time but come evening I was started to feel icky. Woke up Sunday morning feeling like
crud-ola <----my made of word LOL.
I couldn't breathe, my head was pounding and now I was starting to cough up mucus. YUCK! I am a big baby when I am sick and honestly, when you are a mom there is no time to be sick. The kids and of course the husband still need you. Luckily, my husband took pretty good care of me and these handy items helped a lot too...

&

Come Monday, I find out I got a sinus infection. Bending over to pick up the baby my head would just pound. The dr put me on a Z~pack but it has yet to start working. I hope it kicks in soon because I got great plans this weekend.

I have tons of things to catch everyone up on and tons of blogging I need to do.

Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

Handwriting Game

I was tagged in a fun bloggin' game by Ambrosia!
I had saw this on another blog and couldn't wait or maybe I should say...hoped someone would tag me and they did. It's so fun to see people's handwriting!

So here it is...the Handwriting Game. Here are the rules

In your handwriting, answer the following questions and post it in your blog.
Pretty easy, right?
1. What’s your name / blogger name?
2. What’s your blogs URL?
3. Write, “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”.
4. Favorite quote?
5. Your favorite song?
6. Your favorite band / singers?
7. Anything else you want to say?
8. Tag 3 bloggers to participate.

Now go have fun! I personally don't care for my handwriting. Some days I like it and other days I don't. :]

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Busy Bee......BuZz...BuZz....BuZz

Man o' man! I have been one busy bee these past few days. Where do I even begin?

Saturday I posted all the things I needed to do over the weekend and I don't think I got everything I wanted accomplished, BUT I did do a lot.

JL went with "mommas" {my mom} on Saturday afternoon to go see the movie Rango. What a nice break. Me & babygirl just hung out and enjoyed some peace~n~quiet. When JL got home, we went over to my mom's house and had dinner with her, "Old dude" {my step~father} and my sister who came down for the weekend from college. I love when she just shows up. I miss her so much. ♥ After dinner we came home and were in bed pretty early.

Sunday was a very busy day. My day started off with taking my first ever Senior Portraits of this BEAUTIFUL girl named Nicole.

She was the sweetest person I have ever met and I can't thank her enough for letting me have this opportunity to photograph her. We had so much fun! Thank you Nicole! :]

On our way to our first location we came across these cows. These things were so BIG that I don't even know if you call them cows when they are that big. I couldn't help but take a picture of this thing after we were done taking pictures because I thought it was just so neat.

{Look at that bad boy...YIKES!}

We moved on to our next location and got done shooting around 2:15ish. I had to leave because I had another photo shoot at 3:45pm. I am trying to get as much practice in as I can.

The second photo shoot I did was with Ambrosia & Stephenie of this beautiful couple and their 2 year old daughter.

Taking pictures of little kids I find pretty difficult. It's hard to pose them and they usually just want to do what they want to do. Does anyone have suggestions when photographing young kids? It's almost like you just have to get the candid shots, which I am totally okay with.

We wrapped that photo shoot up around 5:30ish and then decided to play. We used some of Stephenie's props and put Ambrosia in front of the camera.

After playing we headed to Ambrosia's for some BBQing. We ate steak, corn on the cob, grilled peppers, and some delicious Red Velvet cupcakes. I swear I ate like 4 of them. And now that I know they make Butter Cream frosting in a jar....I'm in big trouble.

So there you have it. I had a busy Sunday and I did it all with my back pain. Went to the Dr today so I'll fill you in with what's going on there a little later.

Hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! Thank goodness tomorrow is Hump Day!

I gotta do what?!?

Man...this weekend is super busy! I have tons of things on my To~do list plus other things in general.

Today I was supposed to go to Bisbee with my sister~friend Ambrosia to play with our cameras, but she couldn't find a sitter unless she paid $30 and I just wasn't having that. I told her we would just reschedule. Super bummed but that just means I can get some things done around here.

Baby girl just went down for her nap and I have told JL that when she wakes up I will go for a walk with him so he can ride his bike. I should have waited to tell him because now all I am hearing is, "Mom, when is Jaycee going to wake up?"

I have been setting up practice shoots with a couple of friends so I can get practice with my camera so I have 2 shoots this weekend {tomorrow to be exact} which I am excited about. Along with that excitement comes the nerves though. I will be taking some Senior portraits and family pictures. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? :]

Challenges: There are so many good challenges out there in the blog world that I have been wanting to join so I hope today I can take those photos and link up before Mr. Linky closes. I don't know why I get all nervous about entering challenges. Actually I think I worry too much about what people think or that they won't think my photo is good. I need to stop this. Better Pray!

Other than all the above mentioned,

I have a house to clean,
an expedition to vacuum,
laundry to fold & put away,
a library card to get,
a workout to "try to do,{hurt my back yesterday so we shall see about this one, blog post to follow}
pictures to edit,
and planning to do.

WHEW! I better get started now!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Wee Bit Wednesday

It's Hump day already?!? Thank goodness. I am ready for this week to be over. Since it's Wednesday we all know what that means.....it's Wee Bit Wednesday time. :]

{one} do you wear holey jeans? if so, do you buy them that way?
yes I wear holey jeans. I only have one pair that has holes in them and I did in fact buy them that way. The hole has gotten much bigger so I think I need to retire them. The problem is they are just so comfortable.

{two} do you get a full 8 hours of sleep per night?
I try to get 8 hours but have a 9month old sometimes that just doesn't happen. Or like last night when my 5 year old woke up at 1am throwing up all over the couch. :[

{three} what’s your favorite way to eat an oreo?
you got to dunk them in milk and let them get just a little soggy. YUMMY! Now I want some oreos.

{four} do you wear shoes in your house?
Sometimes. We usually take our shoes off so we can keep the carpets clean. Th

{five} who would you call first if you won the lottery?
my mom.

{six} have you ever been in a food fight?
i don't think i have. Maybe I should start one. Hee~Hee

{seven} do you snore?
oh I KNOW I snore. Not all the time but there have been times that my snoring has woke me up.

{eight} do you know how fast you type?
I haven't taken a typing test in such a long time. I would say probably 65wpm but that has some errors in it I'm sure.

{nine} can you do a headstand (without using a wall)?
maybe for like a second.

{ten} how do you like your popcorn?
has to have butter if I have it in the theatre or at home. If it's store bought this is the kind I get. I could eat a whole bag in one seating.

30 Day Challenge: Day 12

Day 12:A song that you want played at your wedding(or was played).

Ahhhh....our wedding. Such sweet memories. John & mine's wedding was anything but normal but it was PERFECT for both of us.

 John proposed to me in December 2006. I threw out dates to him of when we should get married and he kept shooting those dates down. To be honest I was getting a little irritated. I was thinking, "You can't propose to a girl and then when she brings up a date say, that's too soon! What the heck?!?" Anyways...after the dates that I was throwing out there were being tossed out the window one right after another, I gave up and told John that he could pick the date. I really didn't want a big fancy wedding and I didn't want to have to plan a big wedding either. Not your typical girl, huh?

Mid April 2008....John calls me at work and says,"Hey! Why don't we get married on May 17, 2008?" I thought to myself...really?!? This boy is going to give me less than a month to plan our wedding. I said. "OKAY!"

A little history: From the very beginning John & I had decided that we didn't want a big wedding and we would rather just get a group of close family & friends and go to Vegas.

Well...that is exactly what we did. The day John called me at work, I called my mom and right away we were looking online booking our hotel and flight. A couple days later we had where we were going to get married booked. Now to tell all the family and friends and find a dress.

We texted and called close family and friends and told them we were sorry for such a short notice but we would love if they would be able to come to Vegas. Believe it or not we had about 30 people come to Vegas. About 15 of them were all on the same flight as us. Good times!

We left for Vegas on Friday, May 16th around 7:30pm. Got into Vegas around 9pm. Left Vegas on Sunday, May 18th at 7:30am. We were in Vegas for less than 48 hours.

We all went out on Friday night. John and I got married at noon {I think} on Saturday at the Howard Johnson's Hotel. We now call it the Ho~Jo, and just a FYI don't EVER get married in Vegas in May at noon outside. Can we say hello heat stroke?!? After the 10 minute ceremony we went and ate at Cravings in the Mirage Hotel&Casino. After that everyone hung out and we had a great time. Woke up the next morning, well some of us did, others were still awake,and headed to the airport.

It was such an amazing trip and I wouldn't change ANY of it. John&I both look back and just laugh at all the memories we created that special day. We couldn't be more thankful to have those special family and friends that with such short notice made their way to Vegas to help us celebrate our special day.

Oh! Now for the challenge...DUH! There was no songs played at our wedding or after either. BUT if we had a traditional wedding we would def have to have our song played.

Happy Monday Photo Challenge

I know today is Tuesday and this is a Happy Monday Photo Challenge, but I couldn't resist not linking up with this photo of my 8 month old daughter, Jaycee Lynn. She was down and out with ear infections and she has been trying so hard to get those bottom teeth in. She was tired! I decided to get my camera out and take a picture of this precious moment. I just love sleeping babies.

{look at those lips...LOL}

There you have it! Now it's your turn. Go link up to Allie's Happy Monday Photo Challenge!

Extreme Makeover: Blog Edition

Do you see it? Do you see the HUGE change in my blog?
Isn't it just B~E~A~U~T~I~F~U~L?!?
My sweet sister~friend Ambrosia did it for me because I am totally illiterate when it comes to designing blogs and she just LOVES to do it.

I love it so much that I am probably going to keep it around for awhile. Hope you don't get bored with it but until I can change everything around without jacking up my blog it is going to stay. :] I seriously think she could get paid to design people's blogs. What do you think?

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday! I'll be back later with my 30 Day Challenge post. I have been getting some slack from some people with how much I have dropped the ball on this challenge so I am trying to keep up. :]
