Happy Halloween!

WOW! When is the time going to slow down just a lil bit? We have been going, going, going, and I don't think it's going to slow down anytime soon. Sometimes I feel like I don't have enough time in the day to get things done. I make "To~Do" lists and barely get things checked off. I go to work 8 hours a day, come home unpack JL's packback & Jaycee's diaper bag. We do dinner, baths and then you look at the clock and it's already time for bed. Then I have to wake up in 7 hours and do it all over again. UGH! (Alright, enough of that soap box, time to get on with this blog)

Last Sunday we went to Apple Annie's Pumpkin Patch. It was a great time. We met Amber, Chance & the kids there. JL had a good time. I was a little hesitant at first because it was so crowded but it winded down and we enjoyed it. We took the hayride out to the patch and we told JL that he could get any pumpkin he wanted as long as HE could carry it. It was so funny because he kept trying to go for the big pumpkins and I would ask him if he could carry it. Then he would slowly walk away from that pumpkin. One time he ran over to a BIG pumpkin and I asked him, "can you carry it?" Then he shocked me....he said, "Come on guys team work!" I just l♥ve that kid! So we got 2 pumpkins and were on our way back to the hayride when we found a lil friend. They were all over the place here.

One thing we did this year is cut some sunflowers. These sunflowers were gorgeous & so BIG! You could cut 5 for $5! So of course you know me.....I cut 5!

I have great plans for these sunflowers and the pumpkin I picked out. I just hope it turns out how I envision it. :) If it does I will be sure to show pictures!

Now it was a good thing we met Amber there because with her awesome photography skills she took two really great pictures of Jaycee.

I would have to say they are my favorite and I need to get them printed! (Hint to Miss Ambrosia if you are reading this)

And here is two of my favorite men in my life! ♥

This Photo I took, nothing compared to Amber. ;)
We had a fabulous time together and even took a detour on the way home. My mom got to learn about where John grew up...McNeal & Elfrida area. I was tired and took a nap on the way home because I had lots to do that night. I had to pack mine & JL's things for our BIG surprise adventure the next day. I was taking him to Disneyland for Mickey's Halloween Party and he had no idea. I'll blog about that next as soon as I get all the pictures together. But I will leave you with this for right now.....

San D'Lego

Whew! What a weekend! It was a total oxy-moron, long & fast! Last week, on Wednesday or maybe Thursday, John & I decided to make a trip to San Diego. John's cousin was coming home from deployment and we decided to go to his welcome home BBQ. We told JL we were going and he was really excited to see his "Uncle Blu" and the girls. He kept asking us when we were in the car if we were in "San D'Lego yet?" Aww....I love my boy! You should hear him say Police Officer. (That's another story) :)

We headed out on our trip on Friday morning. We had to stop in Florence to pick up John's grandparents because we were going to be their chauffeurs. Grandpa had a dr's appt and we had to wait for that to finish. So my loving husband did the greatest thing ever! He bought me a sundae from Sonic and took me for a ride around the prisons. Now if you know me....you should know that I love prisoners. I don't know what it is but they excite me, and not in the way you think! I get really happy when I see them in the yard, in their orange suits behind the barb wire fence. This totally made my day. I didn't even need to go to San Diego now! ;)
We finally got on the road at about 7pm. I sat in the back of the Expedition and just watched and listened to John's conversation with his Grandpa. ♥ This made my heart melt. We recently found out that John's Grandpa has prostate cancer. It breaks my heart because he is such a great man and I just love his smile. To hear Grandpa talk to John about back in the day and them just laughing together made my heart smile. We stopped in Yuma so Grandma and Grandpa could stretch their legs. This was about 11:30 or so. I thought this is good. Only another 2 hours or so and we will be there. Boy was I wrong. We stopped at the wrong place. We stopped at a casino. Uh~Oh! Yes it was late and I was sleeping. To make a long story short, let's just say I was stuck in the car with two kids while they went in to take a "potty" break. John his grandparents finally came back to the car at like 1AM. I was not a happy camper. We continued our journey and made it to San Diego around 3AM.
That morning we woke up around 7 and got ready for the day. We headed over to Camp Pendleton and spent the whole day there. The kids played and it was so great to see everyone. We headed back to the hotel and woke up the next morning to head back home. We made one last stop at "Blu's" house for breakfast, then headed out. We left San Diego around 11AM. We didn't get home until after mignight, because again we stopped at the casino. This time though, I didn't wait in the car. I went in with the kids and we ate at the buffet. Let me just add a little something, John plays my favorite slot machine, Wheel of Fortune, and it irritates me just a little that he wins ALL THE TIME on this game. Me....not so much. Anyways...John won us $1200. Grandma & Grandpa played the slots, and just from observation, I have never seen Grandpa move so fast. He was like a kid in a candy store. Smiles all around. I wish I had my camera to capture this moment.
It was good quality time with John's grandparents and seeing the family. It was a short stay in San Diego but it was well worth it. I can't wait to go back!

On that note.......this week is going to be crazy busy. I have my to~do list and I hope I get it all done. I have to because in 6 days I am taking my lil man to Disneyland! EEK! I am so excited. And it is even better because he has no idea. I am not going to tell him either. Not when we are on the plane or in the taxi on our way to the Disneyland Resort. I can't wait till the light goes off and he figures out where we are at! I better have my camera ready for that face! It is going to be great! We are going Trick~or~Treating at Disneyland! What can be better than that? Pictures will for sure follow.

I hope you all have a fantastic week! Till next week, because you know I will be pulling out my hair for the rest of this one! Adios!

Halloween Treat

I love this time of year. I love Halloween! I don't know why but it is one of my favorite holidays. I love getting dressed up. I love getting the kids dressed up. I love going Trick~or~treating, I mean taking the kids Trick~or~Treating, and I love doing our Halloween dinner at my mom's house. She goes all out. It's never just your normal dinner. It has to be, Bat wings and human fingers (chicken wings and cream cheese roll ups) I just love it! Oh and the weather at night is finally starting to get cooler. Thank goodness because I am sick of these hot days.
One of my goals for October was to be more crafty. My SIL, Ambrosia & I had decided to do a project a week. Well....let's just say that I am about a week behind, but hey things come up and I do have a newborn. Anyways......I FINALLY finished our project. We decided that we were each going to do a mini~album. It could be anything we wanted. Any theme as long as it was an album. I have never attempted this before and here is Ambrosia being the pro that she is knocked hers out and showed me what I was up against. :) Great! What was I to do????? Hello...is anyone in there? (me knocking on me own head) THUNK! THUNK! Then it came to me.....I was going to do a Halloween Album.
For my first attempt. I went back and forth and being the perfectionist that I am when it comes to scrapbooking I was having a difficult time. Then throw in the factor of not having pictures made it even harder for me. I had all my stuff all over the floor and I was trying to find just the right touches. I thought I had a lot of Halloween embelishments, but after doing this I found out I really do not. Means I need to buy more! ;)

My mess on the floor

I continued on thru my issues and finally finished my album. 2 weeks later but hey I got it done. Here it is!

Just so you all know, I was having issues with the cover. I wanted a title but didn't know what to do. I was starting to get fed up when JL said to me, "I want to help", and then this is what I came up with. JL is learning to write his letters so I let him write "Halloween 2010". This album means more to me since he had something to do with it and I can cherish what his handwriting looks like at the age of 4.

Now that it is complete I can't wait to put the pictures in it from this year's Halloween. I don't think I did too bad of a job for my first try.

Now the question to my few followers is.........WHAT SHOULD MY NEXT PROJECT BE OR THEME FOR MY NEXT ALBUM BE?

My Lil Rolley Polley

She did it! My lil baby girl has finally learned to roll over. She was getting so close and she would get her arm stuck but now she has learned to get that arm out of there. Now whenever we lay her on her back she just rolls right over. ♥ She is getting so big and next comes crawling!
