Sleep? What sleep?

Man...what a weekend. I am still trying to catch up on sleep. Don't know if that will happen.

It started on Saturday morning. John & I loaded up the kids and headed to Florence for Savannah's {John's cousin} baby shower which was 3 hours away. I was really excited! One, I love going to baby showers just to play the games and two, I got a camera as a gift from my mother {thank you so much mom}and I was going to go shoot some maternity pictures of this sweet girl with my fabulous SIL Ambrosia.
I have been eagerly wanting to learn how to take some decent photos and Ambrosia is the perfect person to show me. This was Savannah's gift from Ambrosia and I just wanted to tag along and TRY to take some photos and play with my camera. Then if I got one decent shot I would be happy. The nerve~racking part....Savannah is absolutely gorgeous and I did not want to mess anything up. I guess when you have such a gorgeous model it will only make the picture more beautiful though.
We had such a good time out there, shooting away, laughing and making memories.
Here are some shots that I got that I thought were not to bad for a first~timer! LOL

I had such a wonderful experience and I hope Savannah likes at least one of them that I took. The plus side, Amber was there!

So after we were done taking pictures, we came back to the car to find all of us had several missed calls from my husband and mother~in~law. John's dad was in the emergency room. I'm not going to go into detail but his dad is still in the hospital and we are just doing the "waiting game". Please keep John's dad and family in your prayers.

Now...to sit here and do some more editing and figuring this photo thing out waiting to hear from my dear husband to see what is going on. I also have a nice pile of dishes that needs to be cleaned and laundry that needs to be folded. UGH! Can't they just please clean themselves?

Oh...and head on over here to get involved in this. I know I will be heading out sometime this week to purchase Scrabble. :]

P.S. I have also linked up to Thrive Project to learn a little about photography. I feel the top 3 photos I have posted are perfect for this, but my chosen one for this project is image #2. {the one of Savannah on the railroad tracks}

    The waiting stinks. Just pray without ceasing. 'Dad' will be okay.

  2. Wow, those are really incredible! My husband told me that a real camera is in the works for us next month. SO EXCITED. I know nothing about what kind to get though, so I'm trying to research some nice ones now. I took a photography course in art school... Figures it would take having kids to make me actually want to take pictures :-P

    Your family is in our prayers. Good luck with everything.
