30 Day Challenge: Day 9

Day 9: A photo you took.

I am going to post a photo I took last week with my new sweet gift I got from my mother! :]

{that's my Buddy!}

And of course he is a gamer!

Sleep? What sleep?

Man...what a weekend. I am still trying to catch up on sleep. Don't know if that will happen.

It started on Saturday morning. John & I loaded up the kids and headed to Florence for Savannah's {John's cousin} baby shower which was 3 hours away. I was really excited! One, I love going to baby showers just to play the games and two, I got a camera as a gift from my mother {thank you so much mom}and I was going to go shoot some maternity pictures of this sweet girl with my fabulous SIL Ambrosia.
I have been eagerly wanting to learn how to take some decent photos and Ambrosia is the perfect person to show me. This was Savannah's gift from Ambrosia and I just wanted to tag along and TRY to take some photos and play with my camera. Then if I got one decent shot I would be happy. The nerve~racking part....Savannah is absolutely gorgeous and I did not want to mess anything up. I guess when you have such a gorgeous model it will only make the picture more beautiful though.
We had such a good time out there, shooting away, laughing and making memories.
Here are some shots that I got that I thought were not to bad for a first~timer! LOL

I had such a wonderful experience and I hope Savannah likes at least one of them that I took. The plus side, Amber was there!

So after we were done taking pictures, we came back to the car to find all of us had several missed calls from my husband and mother~in~law. John's dad was in the emergency room. I'm not going to go into detail but his dad is still in the hospital and we are just doing the "waiting game". Please keep John's dad and family in your prayers.

Now...to sit here and do some more editing and figuring this photo thing out waiting to hear from my dear husband to see what is going on. I also have a nice pile of dishes that needs to be cleaned and laundry that needs to be folded. UGH! Can't they just please clean themselves?

Oh...and head on over here to get involved in this. I know I will be heading out sometime this week to purchase Scrabble. :]

P.S. I have also linked up to Thrive Project to learn a little about photography. I feel the top 3 photos I have posted are perfect for this, but my chosen one for this project is image #2. {the one of Savannah on the railroad tracks}

30 Day Challenge: Day 8

Day 8: A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life.
{I am obviously going to be writing to my husband here.♥}

Dear John,

WOW....I can't believe I am writing this letter over the computer knowing that you won't read this until at least a couple of days later. That makes me smile as I hope it comes as a surprise.
I don't want to make this too long of a letter and I am not going to go into too much detail about our lives especially over the Internet, but I do want you to know how much I love you and how much you have changed my life.
If we look back 6 years from now, no one would have thought we would be where we are today. To be honest, and you already know this, we both didn't think we would be here. We def had our ups, and of course more downs, but look at us now. We have a beautifully family together and are living our dreams. You have helped me grow and become a better person. I would be nothing with you and our kids. I couldn't imagine my life without you or them. I sit here and try to think about what my life would be like if we didn't decide to make it 'official' and actually be together and I just can't see it any other way. You are my EVERYTHING.
Thank you for everything you have done for me and our family. I look forward to growing old with you and watching our kids grow. Always remember that I love you with all of my heart!

Love Always & Forever,

Photobucket

P.S. I'm sure you appreciated me being a psycho, crazy biotch! :] Love ya baby!

30 Day Challenge Day 7

Day 7: Five things you couldn't possibly live without

There is definitely the obvious here and I am going to try really hard not to name them.

Item #1: Lip Gloss

I always need my lip gloss.

I am on of those girls who is constantly putting it on even when I just put some on 2 minutes before. My favorite is VS but I also enjoy me some bath & body works kind too. :]

Item #2: Baby wipes

I usually ALWAYS have these in my purse.

Between using these to get the crusty boogers out of John Logan's nose to just using them to clean the babies dirty hands, I love me some wipies.

Item #3: My planner

This is another item that I usually always have with me.

{this is the only image I could find online and this is the exact one that I have}

I love my planner and seriously do not like it when I don't have it with me. I write everything in it and try to be as organized as possible. You have to when you have kids and there are practices or for school and they have 1/2 days. This thing helps me keep sane.

Item #4: My cell phone

I know this sound bad, but I go crazy when I don't have my phone or if I have lost my phone. It's my main way of communicating with my family and friends.

Just so you know....I would much rather text on the phone than talk on it! :]

Item #5: Okay...I have to....my family

My family means the world to me and I don't know what I would do without them! I love each and every one of them in their own unique way!

30 Day Challenge Day 6

Day 6: A moment you wish you could relive.

Usually when I think of the past, the first thing I think of is all the bad things. I think of how I don't want to go back to those memories because some are painful, but I also think of how the past has made me who I am today. It's a reason those things are now in the past and it's time to move forward.

However, I did have lots of great times in my past and some of them I wouldn't mind reliving. :] For instance, high school. I totally could go back to those days when I was a teen and having so much fun. The football games, spirit week & pep-rallies, dances, writing letters to friends and passing them the notes in the hallway. I can remember high school like it was yesterday and yes there was some not~so~good memories {first heart breaks comes to mind first} but man did I love it. I remember going to school early to be able to hang out with my friends or our group before the first bell rang. I can remember the ditching classes and getting into a little car accident right in front of the Driver's Ed class. {I won't mention the driver's name or what she was doing while the accident occurred, LOL}
Then there were sports. The long practices and games. The bus rides to the games, ah man....one of the best rides was softball/baseball and we started dancing and singing in the back of the bus and the boys joined too. Or even when me and the girls spied on our softball coach's ex husband as he was sneaking another lady into his house. Makes me smile and laugh out loud just typing it.

Great memories! I could go on and on and on, but I'll just say that high school was one of the best times of my life and I totally wouldn't mind going back and reliving it. I wouldn't change it just relive the good ol' days of being a teen. :]

30 Day Challenge Day 5

Day 5: Favorite Quote

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; But often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
Helen Keller
Plain and simple.
Plus it is a helpful reminder to stop looking at the closed door. :]

30 Day Challenge Day 4

Day 4: Favorite Television Program

As I am sitting here at home today not feeling well, I have had plenty of time to catch up on my favorite TV show. I am way behind what current season is on TV right now but I started this show from Season 1. That's the only way to do it. I have finally reached Season 4 thanks to instant streaming on Netflix! Aww....I love Netflix. So after this writing and catching up on the challenge I will continue to watch one of the best shows ever!

Desperate Housewives

30 Day Challenge: Day 3

Day 3: Favorite Book

I have been searching all over the Internet for this book that I read back when I was in the 4th or 5th grade. I don't remember it's name, but I recall the hot air balloon on the cover. I can remember it being about a man & I think kid too that traveled all around the world in a hot air balloon. I remember them stopping to either eat pancakes or they participated in some largest pancake contest. The book was written in rhymes and it was a chapters book not a little kids book. I cannot find this book anywhere and even called my elementary school library this morning to see if they had any idea what I was talking about. If the library was set up the same I could walk right in and know exactly what shelf it was on because that is how many times I checked it out from the library. You would think I would remember the name but I cannot for the life of me. I thought it might have been around the world in 80 days or something like that but after googling that it was not it. Unless of course I find the right version of it. This is so frustrating because I really would like to read this book again. I will continue my search and hopefully one day find it.
One other book that I loved so much when I was little was Charlottes Web.

I think I checked this book out of the library just as much as I checked out the "unknown title" book.
Ahhh....memories. Maybe I will go buy this book and start reading it to JL & Jaycee every night. I think he would enjoy it. :]

Speaking of JL, the book we like to read together is
There was a Coyote who Swallowed a Flea.
This book is really cute and what's even better is JL memorizes the lines so he can read it with me.

{BURP! Is breakfast soon?}

Love this!

I have to share this with you. I got an email today stating that it was National Winnie the Pooh Day. Who would have thunk it? LOL
Anyways, in this email someone had put some of Winnie the Pooh's quotes and I fell in love with this one as soon as I read it.

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something
you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than
you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is,
even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you."

Isn't it just great??? It makes me think of my kids.
Now to make something with it. Maybe a scrapbook layout or even just a picture frame with this quote?

Any ideas please share with me.

And one more quote that was cute...

"If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be
patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his
ear."

30~Day Challenge: Day 2

On to day two!

Day 2: Favorite Movie

You are going to love this or you are going to think I am crazy.

My all time favorite movie is

Girls Just Want to have Fun

This 1985 movie stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt, and Shannon Doherty.
Janey {Sarah Jessica Parker} is new in town, and soon meets Lynne {Helen Hunt}, who shares her passion for dancing in general, and "Dance TV" in particular. When a competition is announced to find a new Dance TV regular couple, Janey and Lynne are determined to audition. The only problem is that Janey's father doesn't approve of that kind of thing.

I have loved this movie ever since I was a little girl. I still do this day can watch it over and over. I get all excited when I see it come on TV, which is very rarely. :]

30 Day Challenge: Day 1

I have decided to jump on the 'challenge wagon' this week. Two challenges in 2 days with possibly more to come. EEK! Makes me nervous but I am enjoying stepping out of my comfort zone every once in awhile.

Today I have decided to participate in Ambrosia's 30~Day Challenge. Now this may take me longer than 30 Days because I may not be able to blog everyday, but I am going to try my hardest.

Here goes nothing.

DAY 1: Favorite Song

This is a hard on for me. First day and it's this difficult. Can I quit now please? Just kidding.
I am a lover for all kinds of music but I really enjoy me some country. Since country is in my head, I'll choose my favorite country song, as of today. :] Is that cheating? The one country music song that I am totally diggin' right now is by Sugarland and is called "Stuck like Glue".

I love it! I get so excited when it comes on the radio and what's even better is hearing my 5~year old son sing it with me. Then of course there is my husband who tries dancing like the girl in the video in her blue spandex outfit. HA! Classic!

There you have it. My favorite song as of right now. I could go on and break it down, like favorite workout jam, favorite Disney song, favorite song from high school, but I'm not gonna. I'll save you from being tortured. LOL

Taurus to Aries

Millions of people woke up last week to find out that their world had drastically changed and that they could no longer blame their personalities, their luck and their mood swings on their zodiac signs.
Their date of birth may not have changed – but their zodiac sign just did.

Thanks to those new findings, you are strongly advised to remove your Capricorn tattoo – as it turned out you might actually be a Sagittarius.{Got this from news.mwza.com} Thought it was pretty funny. :]

I am not into all the zodiac signs and I do not read my horoscope on a daily basis. Shoot....I barely read it at all, but now if I do come across horoscopes in the paper I better make sure to read the correct one.

I am no longer considered a Taurus. I am now an Aries.

Capricorn: Jan. 20 – Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 – March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – June 21
Gemini: June 21 – July 20
Cancer: July 20 – Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10 – Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16 – Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30 – Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23 – Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 – Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 – Jan. 20

And did you notice the new zodiac sign????
  Ophiuchus

Pretty interesting huh?

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday and hope you don't have to get any tattoos removed. ;]

Very first Photo Challenge: IN LOVE

Eek! I am so super nervous! For my very first time ever, I am linking up to my very first photo challenge. I have been wanting to do one and just kept making up excuses, but today, my SIL said. "Just do it!". So here I am.
Jhen over at From here to Eternity is hosting this IN LOVE photo challenge.

I absolutely LOVE my children. They mean the world to me. They can always make me smile when I have had a rough day and don't get me wrong they can make me want to pull my hair out at the same time. BUT, they are my everything and I am completely in love with them.

Photobucket

Thanks Jhen for hosting this challenge and thank you Ambrosia for making me step out of my boundaries and making me do this challenge. I really enjoyed it. ♥ ya!

Danger Ahead

I don't know what is worse,
the fact that we{meaning John and I}
are going to the casino tonight
OR
that I will be going to Michael's
tomorrow.
???????????????

DANGER! DANGER! DANGER!

Both can be very dangerous! And both can be costly.

I am taking John to the Desert Diamond tonight
for his birthday, which was Tuesday, to do some
gambling and we got a killer deal
on a Deluxe room! Only $29! YES!
I can't wait to spend some alone time with him
and just relax, me & him.

{This was taken at the DDC about 2 years ago, it's one of my favorites of me & John ♥}

Tomorrow we plan on doing a little shopping in Tucson because we both have received gift cards to stores that are, of course, only in Tucson. NOTE: If there are any readers out there that have the "insider" with Michael's, tell them they need to put a store in SV.
This is why I will be heading to Michael's.

Now I tried to go to Michael's about 2 weeks ago and I was completely overwhelmed. I went in not having an idea of what I wanted or needed and just got overtaken by all the things in there that I ended up walking out with nothing. Can you believe it? I can't.

I am determined to walk out with something this time.
There are a few scrapbook pages I want to work on that I could always find something to use.
I have heard that Modge Podge is a 'must have' and recently came across a blog with some projects that use it that I might be attempting.
I could pick up some wooden die cuts to make a project.

I am hoping that I walk out of there with something.

What is something that is a must have when it comes to scrap booking or something that you think I should get from Michael's?

Just what I needed

I have signed up to receive these weekly emails called "A little bird told me Daily Truths" from The Brave Girls Club. Everyday I get an email and let me just say that, some of these hit the spot everytime. No matter what it is I am going thru at the moment, during the day or even week, or maybe the month, these truly inspiratinal emails can make me smile.

I have been having some arguments with myself lately and doing alot of soul searching trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I keep every "Daily Truth" email and today I was just reading thru some and came across this one that "hit home" today.

This is just what I needed today and I am so glad I re-read it. Now you should go over and sign up to get your "Little Bird Told Me Daily Truths" too! I promise you, you won't regret it!

Today is totally.....

DRAGGING!

UGH!

I can't wait for this day  workday to be over.
I want to go home, workout, make{maybe even grab}some dinner. CHIPOTLE...that's not that bad right?
Get the kids ready for bed and watch me some Desperate Housewives. I am totally behind since I have started from the very beginning but I am ADDICTED.

This sounds like a pretty good plan to me to get over this day.

So now what????

After deleting Facebook,
I have been wondering what I am going to
do with myself. It seriously consumed all of
my time {really bad I know}.
BUT I am going to work on things that make
me happy and help me relax.
Yesterday I spent some time with 'My buddy'
and then when baby girl went down for her nap
I pulled out my scrappin' supplies. Oh how I
have missed scrapbooking. It just calms me and puts me in my "happy place".
I almost finished my Twenty Five Day Countdown book, but have 2 more pages to do. I plan
on finishing it tonight after I go for my run.
I promise to take pictures of it
and post them.

Which brings me to photographs. My SIL, Ambrosia,
has been trying to teach me the photography ways
and I am slowly, VERY slowly, catching on. It takes
practice and I am determined to get better
with the camera this year. Practice makes perfect, right? Maybe if I get brave I will put some of my photos on some of these websites she participates in. EEK! Makes me nervous just thinking about it.

I also picked up a book at the store around Christmas time that I am planning on reading.

I have heard both the book & movie are good so I am excited to start reading it. Of course I always think the books are better than the movies, so I will read it first then watch the movie. :]

Hope you all are enjoying your Monday. I know I am!

So long Facebook....

It's been nice and it's been fun but it's time for me to say so long. At the end of today I will be deleting my Facebook account.

I have sat here this Saturday morning and have gone back and forth on whether or not I should delete it. There are so many friends that I talk to{well not really, all the ones I talk to have my cell #} and family that I haven't talked to or seen in such a long time, but it's time for me to say goodbye.

There comes a time when you have to make decisions and they may be tough but when I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do after feeding the baby is log into Facebook so I can see what everyone posted and even 'harvest my crops in Frontierville' then this becomes a problem. I could sit here all day checking statuses, looking at people's profiles {being nosey} and I have just decided that I have other things, more IMPORTANT things, to do.

When the laundry doesn't get put away or the dishes don't get done,
THIS IS A PROBLEM
When my baby girl is playing on the floor by herself and my son wants me to play with him, but I become too busy on the computer,
THIS IS A PROBLEM
When I should be working out or doing something physical, but I am on the computer chatting with people
THIS IS A PROBLEM
When I get irritated with someone's status or take something out of context{which probably happens a lot}
THIS IS A PROBLEM

At the New year I said I was determined to lose weight and get toned. Facebook is no help when it comes to this. Yeah I know it is self-control but when I can sit there and chat with someone for hours or get up to do something and come right back to see if I have any new notifications

THIS IS A PROBLEM

"Hello my name is Kelly and I am addicted to Facebook"

So I am going to post this link to Facebook of course so everyone can read and hopefully jot down my blog site so they can continue to follow me and see what is going on with me & the family. I am hoping to still be able to communicate with my relatives that don't live here.

I have become addicted to Facebook and yes it worries me about what I am going to do now that I won't have it, but this year is about changes and I feel like this is where I need to start.

This is it. At 5pm today I will be hitting the delete button.

So long Facebook!

Are you a Warrior?

DEFINITION OF A WARRIOR:
"A person who shows or has shown great vigor,
courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics."

It's official. For my 29th birthday I will be participating in this...

It's probably gonna be one of the craziest frickin' days in my life and I am totally excited for it! I will be doing it with some friends of mine and to be totally honest with you, I am really only doing it because I want the warrior helmet that they give you.
I think it's just great and I cannot wait to take pictures in it. Look for yourselves...you get all this when you register to sign up. EEK!

Now one may ask,
"How does one train for Warrior Dash?"
Answer:

  1. Day one: run as far as you can. Go home.
  2. Day two: do the same thing.
  3. Find the dirtiest pond in your neighborhood and snorkel in it - in your slippers, without goggles.
  4. Practice your climbing and crawling skills at your local jungle gym. Ignore the small children and parental glares.
  5. Do not shower or shave for weeks in order to obtain a true Warrior look. {This could be interesting. My mustache may come in pretty thick and my husband may get jealous, LOL}
Seriously though, your best bet is to do plenty of running leading up to the race.

And so I have started. I have begun my training for Warrior Dash Arizona 2011. I am starting off slow since this is the first time I have gotten back to working out since I have had Jaycee, but I am determind to do this. I want to be able to complete all of the 3.4 hellish miles & obstacles, but most importantly I want to have fun. If I am unable to do an obstacle I am not going to stress it and just go with it. With everyone that is doing it I am sure we will all have a blast.

So now you tell me.....

ARE YOU A WARRIOR???

New Year.......New Me

Another year has come and gone, can you believe it?
2010 flew by and we are already in 2011. In 2 days 'my buddy'  will turn 5 {insert BIG alligator tears} and this past Sunday my baby girl turned 7 months. 7 months.....REALLY? I just had her what seems like a few months ago.
So with this new year there will be a new me. I have things that I have/need to work on and I am going to dedicate myself to making these changes.
Everyone makes New Year's Resolutions and almost ALL of them include the normal weighloss or working out routine. And yes....that is one of mine. I have 2 weddings to go to this year {I am determined to look good in a dress} and for my birthday I want to participate in an event which will test my mental & physical strength. I'll blog about that next. :]

I am not going to go into detail about the other things that I want to work on I just want to say that it will help me better a person. There are things that I need to just let go and realize that MY GOD is in control.

Sorry I have been so backed up with posting on her but I plan to do better. I know my last post was about my Twenty Five Day Countdown book and I have to say that I only have 3 more pages to complete and then I will post pictures.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday!
