30 Day Challenge: Day 11

And the bad blogger award goes to....

Kelly Clark

Man I am horrible. I have not blogged in quite a while and I have things to tell & show, there are photo challenges I want to enter and things I just want to share which you may not care about. :]I have been a busy bee and just have had no time to sit and blog. I promise I will try to do better.

I'm gonna start by continuing the 30 Day Challenge that I started way back when and have been so bad about keeping up with. To be honest, I think it's because Day 11 is... So without further ado, here is a photo of me taken recently. :]

A photo of you taken recently.

I honestly stopped because I didn't have any recent photos that I cared for {yes I am hard on myself}. Then I thought..."Oh I want to lose some weight before  I post a photo for the whole world to see" {obviously that isn't going to happen anytime soon}. But then a miracle happened. Just kidding! However, our family did attempt a photo shoot 2 weekends ago. It was really windy that day and a bit chilly AND baby girl was miserable. She caught the viral crud that has been going around which then caused her to have an ear infection in the right ear and one starting in the left. So taking pictures was not a great idea. The photographers {Ambrosia & Stephenie} did manage to capture a couple.

So without further ado, here is a photo taken of me recently.

Hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday!I'll be back soon I promise!

Wee Bit Wednesday

Man I am a horrible blogger. I haven't posted in such a long time. I have a sick baby girl and I think this mama is catching those sickies. While she is taking her nap I will be linking up with Leigh Ashley's Wee Bit Wednesday. I just think these are so fun!

{one} do you always wear your seatbelt in the car?

I sure do!

{two} do you crack your knuckles?

Maybe some times here and there. I know I used to when I was younger, but I have grown out of it I guess.

{three} what is your favorite flavor of gum?

I like the spearmint flavored. I usually always get Stride Spearmint gum.

{four} what is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own?

I don't own a lot of jewelry because I hardly wear it. I would have to say my wedding ring and band. I never take it off.

{five} who is your best friend?

My husband is one. We can tell each other everything and I trust him with all my heart. There is also Ambrosia & my Lo. I have a really close group of girlfriends though and I love all those girls!
{six} what is your favorite smell?

I love pumpkin spice. Even when it's not fall I love burning candles in this scent. And of course my husbands cologne. Mmmm....

{seven} what is your favorite lunch meat?

Turkey.

{eight} do you still have your tonsils?

Yep. Don't think those are going to come out anytime soon.{knock on wood}

{nine} do you untie your shoes before you take them off?

not usually. Then again I wear flip flops a lot.

{ten} what color is your car?

charcoal.

Join in on the fun! Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.
I'll be writing soon and telling you about my 1st photo shoot with a 2 year old and trying to play catch up on the 30 day challenge I have been slacking on.

Wee Bit Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! I'm linking up with Leigh Ashley's Wee Bit Wednesday. I started it for the first time last week and thought it was super fun.

{one} what is your favorite breakfast food?
I love me some french toast. YUMMY! If I can't have that then I love me some cereal. I can eat cereal for breakfast, lunch, & dinner!

{two} how many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
I don't know,but I do know that the number isn't extreme. I have a couple pair of running shoes, some dress shoes for work, flip flops, and then some off-brand, wanna~be Uggs.{in the future I will own at least one pair of these.}

{three} city or country?
I would probably say city just because I'm afraid of there being snakes in the country. LOL The husband is trying to move me to his ranch though.

{four} what is your favorite part of your job?
The people I work with and of course the part of it being pretty relaxed most of the time.

{five} what is your favorite junk food to snack on?
anything that my stomach is craving at the moment. I do love me some chips&dip though.

{six} have you ever been mentioned in the newspaper?
I was back in the day when I played high basketball and softball, but the most recent was last year when my Susan G. Komen's 3~day for the Cure team was holding fundraisers. Our car wash was a huge success and the newspaper was out there taking pictures. ♥

{seven} do you use post-it notes?
Oh yeah! I have them all over my desk at work and use them all the time. I write to-do lists on them and put them in my planner. They can't be the boring yellow ones though, they have to be bright colored or I am not interested. Is that weird?

{eight} do you have freckles?
I sure do. :]

{nine} is it okay for men to wear pink?
Sure as long as they look good in it. Some guys in my opinion can't pull off pink.

{ten} when was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?
oh man. It's been awhile since I did this. Wait...nope. I wrote 3 letters to 3 terrific ladies in November when we were participating in the SGK walk.

Join in on the fun and I hope everyone is have a great Wednesday!

Valentine's Day Treat

Happy Valentine's Day!
Usually I don't do anything big for V~day for the husband. Maybe a card and a lil something, but this year I came across a super cute idea here that I just had to do.
A "Six~pack of Treats"
What man wouldn't love this?!?
I know I would!

First I bought a six~pack of Orange Crush in the clear glass bottles. You can also use the Strawberry Crush or IBC Cream Soda, as long as they are the clear bottles. You could use IBC Rootbeer but they come in dark bottles so you don't get the full color effect. :]

Empty the bottles, clean the bottles and let them dry. Don't forget to keep the lids to them too.

Spray paint the cardboard box chocolate brown or any color you prefer. Once dry decorate the outside with fun Valentines Day embellishments.

Once the bottles are dry, cover the outside with decorative V~day paper. I got some at Target in the $1 spot{we love the dollar spot}!
I measured my paper to be 3"x8.5". Wrap it around the middle of the glass to cover the Crush logo and barcode.

Now here is the fun part. Pick out 6 different candies or snacks that your husband or significant other likes. Make sure they will be able to fit in the top of the bottle. I used Reese's Pieces, Skittles, Hot Tamales, Mike & Ikes, Honey Roasted Peanuts and Chewy Sweettarts.
Once you have your candy come up with cute sayings to go with each candy. For example, for the peanuts I wrote on the tag, "I'm NUTS about you!" and for the Reeses Pieces, "I love you to PIECES".

Fill the glass bottles with all the candies or snacks and make a tag for each bottle. Use a ribbon or piece of twine to tie the tag around the top of the bottle.
Place the lid back on the bottle and put all the glass bottles back in the cardboard holder they came in.

And wha~la!

There you have it. A nice lil gift for the husband!

I'll have to post a pic later of what I got the lil man. I hope he really likes it. His best friend is getting the same thing so I hope they are both just full of smiles when they go to school tomorrow!

Hope you all are having a great Valentine's Day!

Photo Challenge: Yellow

I'm entering another photo challenge...can you believe it? I surely can't. I am not pro but I figured linkin' up with challenges may be a way for people to help me learn things.

I was going through some pictures in my computer and came across a picture I took back in October while visiting Apple Annie's Orchard and knew right away that it would fit Angel Perry's YELLOW photo challenge.

When we got to the orchard and I saw the field of sunflowers, I knew I wanted to get lost in the middle of it and just start snapping away. This was even before I wanted to start learning photography. The husband & I grabbed the shears and headed into the field. We were looking for the perfect sunflower to cut and bring home. I think they even had a sale that day....5 for $5! :]
Anyways, as he was going up and down the rows, I was too busy snapping away. I think he was getting a little irritated but oh well. ;]

Here's the shot I got.

I even caught some sun flare! Ambrosia would be so proud of that.

Hope you like it. You should go see all the other entries! Some people just amaze me with their talents!

A Wee Bit of Me

I was blog hoppin' this afternoon and came across Leigh Ashley's cute blog. Every Wednesday she does this thing called "Wee bit Wednesdays". I thought this was a great idea since it would start getting me in the habit of posting something at least once weekly.

SO here I go.....if you like it, you should join in too! :]

{one}
ice: crushed or cubed?
Oh man! I LOVE ice and could eat it all the time. It don't matter if it is crushed or cube. Just depends on the mood I am in I guess. Best ice Award goes to.....SONIC! Did you know that some Sonics sell their ice by the bag?

{two} what is your worst traffic pet peeve?
When people are in a hurry to get to nowhere fast. I hate stupid drivers who speed and like to cut people off. Remember you are not the only on on the road.

{three} what room in your house best represents your personality?
My house is not really decorated nor do I have themed rooms anywhere. This is something I do want to change though. I would have to say my bedroom though because that is where all my scrapbookin' goodies are kept. :]

{four} do you save old birthday cards?
I don't save cards. I do not like buying them either. I think they are way to expensive. I have kept some cards in the past that me and the husband have given each other {anniversaries, birthdays, just because} and keep them in our book.

{five} when was the last time you went on a picnic?
June 1,2010...can you believe I remembered the date. This was the day I before I was induced with my lil girl. I think I baked her too long in the sun. :}

{six} do you regularly check your horoscope?
nope.....not really.....my God knows exactly what he has planned for me. ♥

{seven} when you’re home, what do you wear on your feet?
I love being barefoot unless it's cold then I will put on some socks.

{eight} what’s your favorite gambling game?
BINGO....does that count? When I am at the casino though I love me some Wheel of Fortune! I never really win though, but my husband sure does.

{nine} have you ever written (or started writing) a book?
nope...and don't see that happening in the future either.

{ten} what is your favorite musical?
I love any Disney Broadway show. I saw the Lion King Broadway musical in Vegas and absolutely loved it!

Well that was fun wasn't it? I hope you learned a little bit more about me. :]

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!

WOW!

OMGoodness! Today was a good day and it all started when I was reading up on some blogs I follow and found out that the picture I took was chosen as 1 of 2 favorites. EEK! You have no idea how excited this made me. I mean....really, I am in no way a photographer but I have been eagerly wanting to learn and I couldn't believe that Becky chose mine as one of her favorites. It just makes my heart smile.
Becky has been so generous and teaching everyone out there in the "blog world" what she has been learning in her photography class. Perfect for me since I am a BEGINNER~BEGINNER~BEGINNER! :]
Every week she posts what she has been learning and then asks people to link up with their pictures. I think it's pretty cool and not as intimidating as other "challenges" because it seems like a lot of those participating are beginners. This week she is teaching everyone about Simplicity so I gotta get out there and play with the camera. I have thoughts of what I want to shoot but I just hope it comes out like I picture it. Does this happen to people a lot?

I was just so thrilled that my photo was chosen and had to share  with everyone my excitement. See the photo I linked up with here.

Now...this week I will be trying to link up with Ambrosia's scrabble photo challenge. I really gotta get the creativity flowing for this because so far there are some really neat photos. Head on over and join on in! It's all fun and games, right?!?

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! Just think tomorrow is Wednesday. Thank goodness!

Thrive Project: Lines & Contrast

I have decided to be brave again and join in on another challenge. Becky over at Farmgirl Paints is hosting The Thrive Project. She is taking a photography class and has decided to teach everyone what she is learning. This is great for me since I know nothing. I am slowly learning, but am always willing to take pointers, tips, or any advice.

This week Becky was teaching us about lines and contrast.
Here is my photo.

I took this last weekend when I took my camera out for the first time. I was pretty nervous but had a wonderful 'teacher'. She told me what she wanted me to try and I did and this is what I got. Not too bad and pretty neat, huh? The only thing I dislike is I kinda cut off my dear cousin's head a little. BUT don't you just love her lil baby bump poking thru the fence?

Great Night!

Today is bittersweet. My baby girl is 8 months old today. I really can't believe how fast time flies. I know with JL time went by pretty fast as still does, but it seems like when you have a second kid that the time goes by even faster. I swear just the other day we were bringing Jaycee home from the hospital. Okay, not really, but I really don't know where these last 8 months have gone.

I wish I could be a SAHM with her and be there for all her 'firsts', but right now we just can't do it. It hurts my heart because I feel like I don't get enough time with her. I drop her off with the sitter in the morning and then by the time I pick her up and get home she is in bed 2 hours later. It's just not enough time so I have to cherish every second I get with her. She is def a daddy's girl since she spends most of her time with him and I guess I can't complain.

There's my sweet baby girl and then of course there is her doing her "STINKY FACE". She does this all the time and if her Uncle Chance is around, it's a for sure thing she will be doing it even more. ♥

Today we also got an addition to our family. My friend got a puppy and unfortunately was not able to keep the lil guy. Right away, I jumped to telling her that we would be more than happy to take him off her hands if they for sure couldn't keep him. So this afternoon, John went to go pick up the lil guy.

Welcome to our family Brody.

We are determining on whether or not to keep that name for him. I think it's cute but John wants another. What do you think? Do you like it or what do you think he looks like? Bentley? Cooper?

It's been a fun night hanging out with the lil guy and JL just loves him. Jaycee doesn't know what to think just yet. It's going to take a lot of time and patience to train him but John is the perfect guy to do it.

Off this subject and on to another......I was playing around with my camera this evening and all of a sudden JL comes out with my old point and shoot camera. I just laughed out loud and he starting taking pictures of the puppy. Then he looked to me and said, "Mom, let's take a picture of each other".

Pretty cute, huh?

Then I was fooling around and taking pictures of "my love". I was making him pose. I love that he is such a good sport.

I hope everyone is having a great night! I know we are!

30 Day Challenge: Day 10

Day 10: A photo of you taken over ten years ago.

YIKES! This could be scary! Here is a photo of me and & my best friend Senior year who is now my sister~in~law! ♥

{Ambrosia on left, me on the right}

I feel like I look the same just aged of course.

Now on to another subject.....I need to know what to do for the hub for Valentine's day?!? I was going to do something that I found online which contained making a "six~pack of treats", BUT I have decided against it. I may still do it if I don't come up with anything else, but that is where I need your help.

Any suggestions on homemade gift ideas for the husband?
